Iowa Hawkeyes 1987 Elite 8 Game Used and Autographed Spalding NCAA Basketball. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to own a one of a kind Iowa Hawkeye Elite 8 game used and team autographed NCAA Spalding Official for NCAA Championship leather basketball. This basketball was 1 of only 2 basketballs used in the famous Elite 8 game between the Iowa Hawkeyes and UNLV held on March 22nd 1987.

Each head coach was presented with a game used ball at the end of the game... Afterwards Tom Davis presented the ball to senior Gerry Wright. That summer I was invited to attend the Iowa All Stars Basketball camp held in Clive, Iowa. The camp was sponsored by the Univ of Iowa and each member from the Elite 8 team was present at the camp as a coach of each team. Gerry Wright was assigned as my coach at the camp.

During our last day of camp it was brought to my attention that the ball would be signed by Coach Davis and the rest of the team before being awared to the camp MVP. Needless to say I won camp MVP and runner-up was a dear friend of mine Chris Street.

Chris and I had grown up playing basketball together at parks in Indianola however I attended Dowling High School in west Des Moines and Chris of course went to Indianola high school. Winning this ball is one of the greatest joys of my life but I've decided to offer it to someone else who would be really proud to display it in their collection. The ball was signed by the following players from that 30-5 team.

The only player who did not sign the ball was Roy Marble because he was absent the last day of camp. I will include the photo of Gerry handing me the ball as camp mvp. Autographed by: Tom Davis, BJ Armstrong, Kevin Gamble, Brad Lohaus, Gerry Wright, Michael Morgan, Kent Hill, Al Lorenzen, Ed Horton and Bill (Clarence) Jones. Ball has been kept in a display case for the past 26 years however a few of the autographs have faded.
