Craig Biggio 1991 Game Used & Autographed Houston Astros Batting Helmet. This batting helmet was worn by Biggio in 1991. The helmet contains the special USA/Canada emblem sticker that was worn on all MLB player helmets in 1991 to honor the soldiers serving in the Persian Gulf during the Gulf War. The helmet was manufactured by American Baseball Cap (ABC) who produced all MLB helmets in 1991. A classic style/model with the iconic Houston Astros Star & H. Biggios #7 is located on the back directly underneath the USA/Canada emblem. The helmet shows amazing game used characteristics & a crack that extends from the ear flap to the crown. The helmet was autographed at the Houston, TX Tristar Collectors Show in February 2015 following Biggios election into the National Baseball Hall Of Fame. The signature is on the brim in silver metallic paint pen w/ the HOF 15 & #7 inscriptions. Biggio rarely inscribes his Astros retired #7 while autographing items & it's a unique addition. Biggio was floored when I handed him the batting helmet to sign & he spoke to me at length about the item (photos included in this listing).
