1917-19 Hillerich & Bradsby Louisville Slugger 125 dash dot dash pro model baseball bat. It is a blank barrel bat as were most pro model bats at that time including Cobb's. However, it has many characteristics of a Cobb game used bat such as it's length of 34.5 which is the exact length of ALL Cobb game used bats. It weighs 34.5 oz which is consistent with Cobb gamers. It has rasp marks on both ends and deadwood on the barrel secured by 15 small bat boy nails which were legal for game use at the time and commonly employed by Cobb to harden the barrel of his bats.

The bat has numerous ball and cleat marks which are always found on Cobb bats. Most importantly the bat is almost totally tobacco stained which also is a well known characteristic of Cobb gamers.

Cobb's signature was made by a metal tip ink pen of the period as you can see in the photos. I have been collecting signed baseball items for more than 30 years and Cobb's signature looks spot on to me. This is a very rare item.

They were all game used by Cobb. It's well known that Cobb often refused to sign bats.
